From October 27th to 29th, 2025, we gathered in Dresden, Germany with the consortium of the European project KijaniBox for our 2nd Annual Meeting, hosted by the Dresden University of Technology (TUD).

The meeting, which blended technical work sessions, internal workshops, and field visits, allowed us to conduct an in-depth review of the progress across all Work Packages (WPs) of this innovative project, which aims to transform African organic waste into green energy for cooling.

On the first day, each partner presented advancements in their respective areas, covering sustainable design (WP1), application solution boxes (WP2), the smart management platform (WP3), African assembly (WP4), pilot validation & LCA (WP5), take-up strategy (WP6), and dissemination & communication (WP7).

The following days were dedicated to practical immersion and strategic planning. We visited an industrial biogas plant in Saxony and enjoyed a guided tour of Dresden’s historic city centre. The third day featured a visit to the Institute of Waste Management and Circular Economy, followed by internal workshops focused on risk mitigation and ASB system development, concluding with a summary session that wrapped up the official program.

At INNEUROPE, as the leaders of WP6 – Take-up Strategy, we actively participated in all sessions. Our work focuses on ensuring the adoption and long-term impact of KijaniBox’s solutions in the agri-food sector, by developing the market strategy, analyzing economic sustainability, and fostering the necessary entrepreneur e

cosystem to bridge African and European innovation ecosystems.

The KijaniBox project, which started in September 2024 and will run until 2028, aims to develop modular, green solutions for more sustainable and resilient agriculture.
